Diploma Of Salon Management

The SHB50216 Diploma of Salon Management is for students who work as supervisors or own a personal service business in the hairdressing and beauty industry. Students learn basic management skills to allow them to understand the operations of a small business.
This qualification reflects the role of supervisor/managers and small business owners of personal services businesses. They are responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operation of the business and for planning, monitoring and evaluating the work of teams. Salon managers also operate with significant autonomy to make strategic business management decisions.
This qualification provides a pathway to work as a salon manager in any type of personal service business including hairdressing or beauty salons, barber shops and spas.
Work is typically conducted in beauty, waxing, brow and nail salons.

Language Literacy Numeracy (LLN)

At MCOHB the ACSF core skills entry levels for each course are determined by referring to the foundation skills in the training package. Core skills are assessed using an approved industry specific paper-based assessment tools to assess an applicant’s LLN capability.
