Course Description
SHB30321 CERT III Nail Technology is for students to be employed as nail technicians to provide manicure and pedicare services, including the application of nail art and acrylic and gel nail enhancements. The qualification provides the student with a range of well-developed technical and customer service skills where discretion and judgement is required and are responsible for their own outputs. This includes client consultation on nail care products and services. Nail technicians may also be self-employed and responsible for managing their own nail station. Work is typically conducted in nail and beauty salons

Entry Requirements
- Successful completion of minimum Year 11 in Australia or higher in student’s country of origin OR
- Holders of an AQF qualification level II and above awarded in the last two years OR
- Applicants with no formal qualification and have experience within the industry may also be considered.
- Be 18 years of age or above
- A minimum English level of IELTS 5 or higher is required for international applicants.
Language Literacy Numeracy (LLN)
At MCOHB the ACSF core skills entry levels for each course are determined by referring to the foundation skills in the training package. Core skills are assessed using an approved industry specific paper-based assessment tools to assess an applicant’s LLN capability. For the SHB30321 Certificate III Nail Technology on a scale of 5, students are expected to achieve the following levels for the five ACSF core skills areas:
